| The Executor-class Command Ship (sometimes
referred to as the "Super-class Star Destroyer") was one of the
largest ships in the Imperial Navy; only the Eclipse- and Sovereign-class
ships are comparable in size to this massive vessel. Executor-class ships
carry over 300,000 crew members and personnel, two entire wings of
starfighters, and over a thousand weapons. The ship has the triangular dagger
shape of smaller Imperial ships, but is so large that its surface resembles a
self-contained city. Many sources refer to this type of ship as
"Super-class Star Destroyers." However, "Super Star
Destroyer" is a generic term used by the Alliance and New Republic to
describe the cruisers, battlecruisers, and battleships larger than Imperator-class
Star Destroyers. Instead, ships of this class are more appropriately referred
to as "Executor-class Command Ships." This is supported by page 320
of Shield of Lies by Michael P. Kube-McDowell, where an
"Executor-class" ship is listed. |
